I taught myself to code as a kid in Jacksonville, Illinois — reverse-engineering games, building websites for clients before I could legally drink.
At 23 I drove to Silicon Valley with $300 to my name, worked out of a Starbucks and then the Hacker Dojo, and built a career on shipped work — an engineering role at a company PlayStation later acquired, then a company of my own I scaled to seven figures.
